Lugol’s Solution of Iodine with glycerin 5%
Lugol’s iodine (also known as Lugol’s solution) was developed by the French physician Jean Guillaume Auguste Lugol, who first prepared a mixture of iodine and potassium iodide in water as an antiseptic and disinfectant. Since then, it has been considered one of the safest sources of iodine — an element essential for proper thyroid function and for helping block undesirable forms of iodine.

Composition (equivalent to USP grade or higher):

distilled water – 85%
potassium iodide – 10%
iodine – 5%

Volume: 100 mL or 50ml, 5% concentration.
